The cheetah is incredibly fast …

… and so beautiful, it might be tempting to reach out to touch that gorgeous coat – which is, of course, a very, very bad idea!

And in the blink of an eye, all that remains is the memory of speed –

    1. Oh I am so glad you are enjoying the blog. It is fun to take pictures of such beauty – either careening around a tree, or hanging on a wall – there is always something wonderful to discover, isn’t there?
And I have to tell you that I love your blog – yellowbacks are such a delight to find and read, aren’t they? If you ever venture to Shandon, Ohio, you’ll find one of the best book stores for finding such treasures!

  1. Such a beautiful animal. I am constantly amazed by the trainers who get so close. Of course, they know what they’re doing, have worked years on earning the animal’s trust. Yet, their dedication is to be admired.
Beautiful and fast, yes. And fascinating to watch.
    Great post. Thank you.

    1. Thank you for such a terrific comment. It is a bit unnerving to see how close some of the trainers get to these animals. There is a lot to be said for the balance of trust and awareness/wariness shared between trainer and animal.
